Thrown on the wheel using stoneware clay, this open circle of clay with star-shaped holders for four candles invites the beholder to count down the days in December before Christmas. Every Sunday a candle is lit until all four are burning. The clay circle can contain water and arrangements of evergreen or flowers. It can also be used throughout the year as an attractive table-piece for holding fresh or dried flowers. With lit candles, it is safer not to use dried flowers. The small candles used here are those used for Christmas trees and can be purchased in this country.
